NC Takes 3rd in Voice of Democracy

VOD imageOur on scene reporter, State Adjutant Bruce Edwards, just announced that North Carolina’s Voice of Democracy winner, Luke Ball, won $10,000 and 3rd place northcarolina14LukeBallout of 54 places nationally at the VFW National VOD competition!  We are very proud of Luke!

Madison Haley, a senior at Mount Pulaski High School, was named the 2013-2014 Voice of Democracy 1st-place winner.

Her speech on the 2013-2014 theme, “Why I’m Optimistic About Our Nation’s Future” won her a $30,000 college scholarship which she plans to apply toward her college career. Madison was sponsored by VFW Post 777 and Ladies Auxiliary in Mount Pulaski, Ill.
