The Council of Administration meeting will be in February 2013. Location is the Embassy Suites Greensboro – Airport and dates are February 1-3, 2013.

This is an exciting opportunity for the members of the North Carolina Veterans of Foreign Wars. Greensboro is centrally located and the Embassy Suites is an exceptional hotel. It is located near the airport, is close to historical sites in Greensboro and Winston-Salem, and is a short drive to the North Carolina Zoo. Major shopping areas and malls are scattered along I-40 and I-85. The new site is centrally located to most posts and will enable more members to attend our meetings and convention. The addition of a free hot made-to-order breakfast and an evening Manager’s Reception add to your event experience and help reduce your event cost.
Why not take a look at the hotel and its glass elevators and atrium through the eyes of wonder, that of a child.

Accommodations. The room rates are $112.00 plus tax. Reservations can be made by calling: 
336-668-4535. All rooms are suites and DOES include a breakfast for each guest in the room for each room night. They will ask you when you check in how many guest you have and will issue the drink and breakfast tickets to you then. The drink tickets are for Friday night managers reception and Saturday night reception before the banquet.
Voice of Democracy and Patriot’s Pen accommodations. Twenty (20) double bed rooms are already reserved for the Voice of Democracy and Patriot Pen students and family. Additional rooms are available for your use. Additional accommodations are available at co-located Homewood Suites. They are on the same property, but next door and those room rates are $179 and are apartment style and will hold more guest per suite. Again. please call 336-668-4535 and use the “VFW” code.
Banquet Information. The Voice of Democracy Banquet will be held on Saturday Night and the cost of that is $25.00 plus $10.00 for the Hospitality all weekend. Total Package cost is $35.00. Please contact Headquarters at 919-828-5058 or e-mail the Department Secretary to reserve your tickets now. This will be a formal event (guys will wear tuxedo, if available, or coat and tie). Don’t miss out on this wonderful banquet.
The Department we will be bringing back all 17 VOD District Winners and three Patriot Pen winners. The state winner will be announced at the banquet. Come and show your support to our youth. WalMart is co-sponsoring this event.
