Buddy Poppies

The Poppy is abundant on Flanders fields. This field is the final resting place for many of our nation’s young. Young men who went from “over here” to “over there.” The VFW Buddy Poppy Program puts poppies on the breast of Americans of all ages, of all races, of all beliefs. It is our way of remembering the sacrifices of our fellow Americans.

A tradition continues

This November 11th is Veterans Day. It is also known as Remembrance Day and Armistice Day for in 1918, on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month the guns fell silent. The “war to end all wars” was finally over.  Are you ready to remember our veterans with the distribution of Buddy Poppies by your Post?  All proceeds from Post Buddy Poppy drives are dedicated to funding the Veterans Relief Fund that supports veterans and their families in need.

Our nation will take a long weekend to celebrate. Won’t you take time on that day to join with others at your local place of worship to give thanks for all of the men and women who have fought at sea and on foreign shore? Many are serving now. Wear a Poppy, Give a Poppy   Learn more
